Computer Science Event Tour
Computer Science Event Tour
We had the incredible opportunity to capture the dynamic atmosphere of a computer science event tour. This event, sponsored by Hello World and Google, aimed to recognize and award the highly skilled youth participating in the Hello World curriculum focused on VR and AI. Participants were celebrated for their achievements and had the chance to showcase the innovative projects they’ve developed. Collaborating with Blare Video, our camera operators and editing team gained valuable insights into the promising future of these talented young students.
Blare Video had the privilege of capturing the essence of four diverse events across the United States. Our skilled camera crew was entrusted with filming the entirety of each event, encompassing dynamic guest speakers, prestigious award ceremonies, and engaging student presentations. In addition to this, we established a dedicated area to conduct insightful interviews with some of the participating students. Our biggest challenge? Compressing the highlights from four vibrant locations, numerous presentations, and interviews into a concise two-minute Computer Science video.
The Computer Science Event Tour commenced at the prestigious Google facility in Chicago. Our skilled camera operators, who truly embody the term ‘videographers,’ adeptly managed this solo endeavor. Their mission? To encapsulate the essence of the event while skillfully squeezing in those valuable interviews within a limited timeframe. Jeremy Applebaum led the charge, setting an exemplary standard for the entire team.
John Pesina captured dynamic visuals at the Google Austin location, presenting a vivid narrative of the high-energy workshops and lively student interactions. With precise timing and creative angles, he seamlessly transitioned between bustling programming sessions and serene interviews with faculty members, providing a glimpse into the collaborative spirit of the event.
Meanwhile, Steve Kaye took the helm at Google San Bruno, where his expertise shined through in his coverage of the awe inspiring presentations. Utilizing a mobil camera setup, Steve not only documented the knowledge exchange but also highlighted the cutting-edge technology showcased, bringing to life the innovation and creativity unique to this venue.
To wrap up the tour, Truman Lorrick showcased his extraordinary contributions at Google New York. His exceptional storytelling skills shone brightly as he masterfully captured the spirit of the event. With meticulous attention to detail and a focus on authenticity, Truman worked seamlessly with the students to craft a stunning visual tapestry that perfectly summarized the Computer Science event, leaving an indelible impression on all who watched.
Once the event footage was captured, we faced the challenging task of deciding what would make it into the final cut. Fortunately, Hello World’s marketing team collaborated closely with our talented editor, Chris Loftling. Together, they carefully selected the music, the interview excerpts, and engaging B-Roll shots. After everything was arranged, Chris applied color correction and a final polish to ensure the video looked its best. The end result? An outstanding and inspiring video.
Everyone did a great job and it started with the imput of head of post-production Mauricio Tapia. He explained to each of the videoagraphers exactly what he wanted captured and overlooked the editing process.
