Short Film Production

Short Film Production

Creating a short film production can be quite the adventure, as exemplified by our captivating production, “Fan 27”. The overwhelming local interest and support significantly eased what was initially perceived as a formidable task. Majority of the filming was done at the Rawhide Ball Park, an iconic landmark synonymous with the Arizona Diamond Backs Double-A team.

Whetting the public’s appetite was a casting call held at the ball park, a strategic move that exponentially amplified interest. Within two mere weeks, we had assembled our entire cast, with starring roles filled by Derek Talbott, Alexandra Anthony, Shannon Watson, and James Marshall Case. This project was truly a one-of-a-kind experience, buoyed by aid from the Visalia community and active involvement from the Visalia Rawhide’s Administrative team.

At the helm of our production was director Justin McAleece of Blare Video, collaboration with producers Ro Leon and Joseph Moffitt, backed by the skilled Blare Films crew. Post-Production and graphics wizardry were courtesy of Jason Wada. Spanning just three days, the film was shot using the cutting-edge Red Epic. Sarah-May Levy, our casting director, took charge of selecting key actors while the ever-eager Rawhide Ball Park group handled the extras casting. The turnout? Over 100 auditions. Indeed, creating “Fan 27” has been a journey we loved every step of!

Following the vigorous, yet exciting auditioning process, the task of refining the actors’ skills fell on the shoulders of our dedicated and talented acting coach, James Logan. James spent countless hours with each actor; molding them, lavishing time upon them, nurturing their on-screen presence. Each transformation was a sight to behold.
